Because the Yoga Clothing takes them to so many Yoga events, Ali and Ken have got to know some wonderful teachers over the years. For most of the last decade they have invited a stream of inspiring Yogis to give days for general students in Horncastle.
The studio is set in the beautiful area of the south Lincolnshire Wolds just outside the town of Horncastle and if you choose to take one of the weekend courses, overnight stays can be arranged for you in one of the local hotels or B&B's just a few minutes drive away. A Day of Yoga with
28th April, 2012 - General Day at Minting Village Hall
29th April 2012 - Studio Day at High Toynton Yoga Studio
- A practical exploration of our assumed sense of solidity.
As our theme for the day, or as a source of inspiration, we could use this incredible quote from the Uddhava Gita
"Abandon all that you now think you know about yourself and the world, and explore what you do not know."
Fine and powerful words that clearly point to the possibilities that lie within the practice of yoga.
Throughout the day we will use sound, breath and colour in our practice to open up the possibility of experiencing a deeper level of our being. If we are lucky, the practices we use can open us up to a glimpse of that which can not be learned but can only be experienced.
The programme will include asana, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra.
The focus of the day will be on practice and personal experience rather than on theory. There will however be time for discussion and for questions and answers.
ABOUT NICK....
From an early age I experienced a passionate longing for answers to the big questions in life. I was lucky enough to find Yoga on a 1-day course in Pokhara, Nepal in 2002. I knew there and then that I had finally been shown my 'way in'. Since then I have been truly blessed with my teachers - Swami Satvikananda, Swami Vedantananda and Swami Nishchalananda. From 2005 to 2010, I was a resident in Mandala Yoga Ashram where I worked in various roles, including that of ashram manager. My naturally contemplative nature and teaching experience progressively deepened whilst in the ashram under the close guidance of Swami Nishchalananda.
I was lucky enough to be asked to teach at BWY Congress in 2010 and, somehow or another, was also asked to teach at the BWY Teacher Training week also in 2010. I enjoyed both enormously and was encouraged by the enthusiasm and kindness I experienced at both events.
He will be teaching a General Day at Minting Village Hall on Saturday 28th April for £25.00 and a Day at our Studio on the Sunday for £40.00
